MARIA SLOWIK It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Maria Slowik on October 17, 2002. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Tadeusz; her daughters, Helen Kryschuk (Alex), Christine Siwicki (Sam), Jeannette Rosolowich (Len) son Ted and special friend Candice; and her two granddaughters, Jeanine and Kristen. Also left to mourn her passing are family members in Poland and the Ukraine. Mom was born in Lviv, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1950. She was a devoted and selfless mother who took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Moms courage will always be a source of strength and inspiration for us when we encounter adversities in our lives. Prayers will be held on Sunday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alex Kryschuk, Sam Siwicki, Len Rosolowich, Steve Yurkiw, Piotr Koldziej and Bronislaw Kopala. The family would like to thank the staff on the 5th floor of the Womens Pavillion for all their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Holy Ghost Parish Maintenance Fund, 341 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
