Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN SLAVUTA Peacefully on October 21, 2002, John Slavuta passed away at the Grace Hospital. John will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Elsie; sister Stella Monaster of Inwood; brother Donald (Helen) Fisher Branch; sister-in-law Pearl Wiederman of Winnipeg; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Kuzma Slavuta and brother-in-law Steve Monaster and Carl Wiederman. John was born on May 2, 1908 in Newmark, NJ and in 1913 the family settled in Fisher Branch. In Winnipeg on November 23, 1946 he married Elsie, the love of his life. They later settled in Headingley where they have lived for the last 48 years, with John spending the last year at the Charleswood Care Centre. John worked at St. Charles Country Club for 28 years as a landscape gardener. Elsie would like to thank Dr. L. C. Bartlett for his wonderful care over the years. A special thanks to his friend and neighbour, Peter Friesen; the Charleswood Care Centre and Grace Hospital for all their care. Donations may be made in Johns memory to the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3M7. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2002, at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
