JANE (JEAN) HEWITT CHALMERS At Golden Links Lodge on October 23, 2002 in her 101st year. Jean was born in Monaghan, Ireland in 1902 and immigrated to Canada with her parents as a young girl. Jean was predeceased by her husband Foster in 1987 and by her sisters, Molly, Emily and Violet. She is survived by her daughter Elaine of Denver, Colorado and husband Jim and by her son Jim of Winnipeg and wife Dorothy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Catherine, Christopher, Craig, Barbara, Pattie and Carolyn and by her great-grandchildren, Regan and Amanda. Following coming to Canada she spent her entire life in Winnipeg with the exception of the period from 1948 to 1969 when the family resided in The Pas, MB. Upon the retirement of her husband in 1970, they spent many enjoyable summers at their cottage at Sioux Narrows, ON and winters in San Diego, California. She was also an avid amateur horticulturist and took many awards for her passion in gardening. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
