Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD KENNETH SANNESS March 23, 1933 - October 23, 2002 It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on October 23, 2002 at the age of 69. Gerald is survived by his loving wife and constant companion of 49 years Pearl; his daughters, Diane (Larry) Zabinski, Marlene (Nestor) Kiss and Gail (Kurt) Lerch; sister Lorraine (Ivan) Pederson; brother Jim (Judy) Sanness; sisters, Pat (Hans) Peterson, Beverly (Kaz) Kasprick; sister-in-law Elaine Sanness; brothers-in-law, Lorne (Elsie) Clemis and Don (Debbie) Clemis; step-father-in-law Stan Rayson. Predeceased by his father Olaf 1957, mother Jane 1971; father-in-law Ernest Clemis 1966, mother-in-law Evelyn Rayson 1991; brother Marvin 1996, brother-in-law Eddie 1977. His memory will live on through his grandchildren, Jason and Kim Zabinski, Brian and Alana Kiss, Adam, Kayla and Milyssa Lerch and great-grandchildren, Alyssia, Michael, Randy, Diana Zabinski, and many nieces and nephews. Gerald was born in Vita, MB, eldest son of six children to Olaf and Jane Sanness. His family moved to Amesdale, ON in his younger years, then back to the Piney, MB area in his teen years where he stayed until moving to Winnipeg and met his future wife Pearl Clemis, which he married August 28, 1953. He worked over 38 years with the Canadian Pacific Railway, until his retirement in 1989. During Geralds life he belonged to the Charleswood Game and Fish, NK Twirlers Square Dance Club and recently with the St. Anns Reelers Square Dancers. Geralds great love for the outdoors was present throughout his life. His humour, warmth, goodness, friendliness, infectious spirit, kind heart and zest for living will be sorely missed. As per Geralds request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Geralds memory at Cropo Funeral Chapel, Saturday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. His Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry and Jason Zabinski, Nestor and Brian Kiss, Kurt and Adam Lerch. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of ones choice. Nothing is so sweet as life. Nothing is more precious than time Nothing more reassuring than the Touch of earth and grass, The sound of voices and bird song. This life for me is truly past. Ive loved you all to the very last.
