CARL EDWARD CHARRIER On October 22, 2002, surrounded by his family, Carl Edward Charrier of Riverton, MB passed away in the St. Boniface Hospital, one week shy of his 66th birthday. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 44 years Helen (nee Kiernicki) sons, Edward (Mary-Ann) of St. Theresa, MB, Robert (Susan) of Riverton, MB, Kevin (Sharon) of Murrieta, CA; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister Doris (Stan Burnette) of Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his mother Alice McGauley in July 2002; brother Raymond in 1995; and father Raymond Charrier. Dad was born on October 29, 1936, in Porcupine Plains, SK. On October 18, 1958, he married Helen in Winnipeg where they lived for several years. In 1975 they moved out to Riverton and established the Marshall Wells Store and took over the movie theatre. Dad was very business minded and dabbled in several things after getting out of the store, including, satellite TV, trucking and catering. Most recently, Dad got much enjoyment out of helping out at the family owned "Roadhouse" in Winnipeg Beach. Dad, you have always been a source of inspiration to us all. You were there when times got tough guiding us with your wisdom, love and support. Sunday afternoons were a favourite time spent together as a family. Your fun-loving nature will be sadly missed by all those who knew you. God speed Dad, until we can be in your loving arms again. We love you Pop. Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital, 5-B and Tracy 7. A funeral service will be held at the Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Winnipeg Beach, on Wednesday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. David Kowalski will officiate. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home, in care of arrangements.
