HELEN AGNES EDMONDS (nee RENNIE) Peacefully on October 12, 2002, Helen Edmonds, widow of the late Wm. George Edmonds, passed away at the Golden West Centennial Lodge. Helen was born October 24, 1913, in Pierson, MB, the youngest child of Alexander (Sandy) and Elizabeth Rennie. After completing her early education, Helen left Pierson to join her sister Jean in Detroit, MI, where she trained and graduated as a registered nurse. Helen and George were married July 1, 1942, and resided in Winnipeg for a short time after their marriage. When George enlisted in the Second World War, Helen returned to Detroit to pursue her nursing career. Upon Georges discharge from the Army, they returned and lived in Winnipeg for the remainder of their years. Both Helen and George had a great love of nature and the outdoors. They enjoyed many years at their cottage at Big Whiteshell Lake, where many good times and several "happy hours" were shared with family and friends. Helen took a great interest in all her nieces and nephews and their families and was affectionately known as "Auntie Honey." She was always there to lend a helping hand, or to share a laugh with as she had a great sense of humour. Helen is survived by her sister Marion Willey; sisters-in-law, Edith Rennie and Betty Eggerton of Winnipeg. She is also survived by the following nieces and nephews and their families: Gerald (Mae) Rennie, Ron (Jean) Rennie, Jack (Marge) Rennie of Winnipeg, Lillian (Chuck) Poole of Midland, MI, Elizabeth (George) Perfect of Regina, Gwen Steele of Maple Ridge, BC, George (Monica) Eggerton of Vancouver, BC, and Roseanne (Ron) Kidd of Colburn, ON. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jean French and Grace Cross; brothers, Alex, Bruce, Warren, and Russell Rennie; brothers-in-law, Joe Willey, Jim Cross, Dick French, and Wilf Eggerton. The family wish to thank the caring staff at the Golden West Centennial Lodge for the excellent care Helen received over the years. According to Helens wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held. This world is not conclusion A sequel stands beyond, Invisible as music, But positive as sound.
