IRENE NEWBURY (BOORMAN) (nee LEWIS) On Friday, October 28, 2002 at Health Science Centre, Irene Newbury, beloved wife of Eric died at the age of 83 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by Erics "son" Ralph (Adrienne) Newbury; children, Derek and Kendal; the "boys" Jerry (Beverley) Philpot and family and Tom Heisinger; nephew Jerry (Debbie) Lewis, sons, Jason and Christopher all of Winnipeg; nephew Graham ( Margot) Mostyn of Saratoga, CA; sister -in- law Ada Wallace of Victoria BC; niece Lenore (Don) White, sons John and Michael; niece Eldeen Simpson, sons, Shane and Kyle; sister-in-law Louise Lewis all of New Zealand. Irene will be missed by her many friends that have been touched by her love. Irene is predeceased by her parents and first husband Stanley; three brothers, Albert, Sid, and Fred; one sister Muriel. Irene embraced life and enjoyed everyday visiting with family and friends. She was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand or even just to lend a compassionate ear. She received her 19 year pin as a volunteer at Concordia Hospital. Irene enjoyed to travel and her dedication and commitment to the church was unsurpassed. Special thanks to the 5th floor Step Down Unit at HSC to all their care and compassion. Pallbearers will be Dale Backstrom, Bob King, Glen Philpot, Ken Philpot, Jason Lewis and Derek Newbury. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30 at 10:30 a.m. at East Kildonan Baptist Church, 700 Watt St. with Pastor Paul Clerc officiating. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 29 at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. and prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 and or Parkinsons Society of Manitoba, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1M5. We remember all the yesterdays, You filled with loving care, The peace and comfort always felt, Just knowing you were there. Remembering, the wisdom of your love, Your understanding too; The countless warm and loving ways, So much a part of you. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
