BETTY ALMA GOOD (nee NEAR) September 15, 1922 - October 13, 2002 With deep sadness we announce that Betty Good passed away peacefully in her own bed, in Winnipeg on Sunday, October 13, 2002, at 8:32 p.m. after lengthy ill health. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her children, Doug Good (Joyce), Elaine Cook (David) and Joanne Good-Draeger; grandchildren, Diana, Benny, Daniel, Matthew, and Melissa; sister Jackie; brother-in-law Phil Schell; and cousin Ted Belfry. She was predeceased by her adored husband Tommy; her sisters, Dorothy Barron and Marion Paulseth; and her son-in-law Hank Draeger. Betty was born in Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto in 1943, a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. Many years were spent raising her family in Calgary. Betty will be remembered for her playful wit, educated intelligence, mastery of bridge, swimming and golf, and her love of music and mysteries. A family memorial service will be held in in Calgary, November 30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local Heart and Stroke Foundation.
