ETHEL JOHNSON It is with deep sorrow we announce Ethels sudden passing on Thursday, October 24, 2002 in the Grace Hospital at the age of 72 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Kris, her daughter Carol Patrick (Jim), great-grandchildren, Christine, Alissia, and Justin; brothers, Lloyd Kiesman (Ilona), Komarno, MB, Milton Kiesman (Martha), and Ervine Kiesman, Prince Rupert, BC; sisters, Evelyn Dargie (Tom), Prince Rupert, and Edna Shoultes, California; sister-in-law Lilja Hiebert (Dick), Calgary, AB; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Natalia and Albert Kiesman; grandson Kelly Mitchell; brothers, William and Clifford Kiesman; and nephews, Leslie Paulson, Billy Dargie and Bobby Kiesman; and her beloved companion Biscuit. Born in Grahamdale, MB and raised in Moosehorn, Ethel moved to Winnipeg and completed her certificate in accounting through night courses. Her working career included Brooke Board, Wilson Stationary and Imperial Roadways before retiring in 1990. Ethel took great pride and pleasure in her home. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and took great joy in her grandson Kelly and cherished her great-grandchildren. She loved to dance till dawn, travelled extensively , was a great cook, loved gardening and will always be remembered for her crocheting, doilies and special items for her great-grandchildren. She loved her family and with her tremendous faith and courage was able to overcome many challenges in life. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor St. with Pastor Michael Kurtz officiating. As per Ethels wishes the casket will be closed. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Travis Kiesman, Rick Lindsay, Barry Geib, Brian Darragh, Oscar Einerson and Dennis Mitchell. Nothing is so sweet as life. Nothing is more precious than time Nothing more reassuring than the Touch of earth and grass, The sound of voices and bird song. This life for me is truly past. Ive loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me but courage take And love one another for my sake.
