S. JERRY McCREERY After a life full of celebration, we sadly announce the sudden death of Jerry McCreery on Friday, October 25, 2002. Predeceased by his parents, James R. and Maude McCreery. Survived by his sister Essie (Dan) Lyons; nephew Rob (Donna) Lyons and niece Adair (Todd) Lisso. Also remembered by his great-nephews and nieces, Montana, Jesse, Dalton and Kennedy. Born in Winnipeg in 1933, Jerry attended Kelvin High School and the University of Manitoba. Jerrys life was rich with community service and volunteerism. He served on the Board of Directors of the Red River Exhibition Association, Past-Chair of the Exhibition Summer Show and recently appointed to their Honourary Council. He was a Past Commodore of the Winnipeg Canoe Club. Jerry actively volunteered at the 1967 and 1999 Pan-Am Games, 1972 Commonwealth Games and recently at the North American Indigenous Games. Jerry served on the Executive of the Manitoba Classic and Antique Auto Club and continued as an active member. He was also Past-President and a member of the Lord Selkirk Auto Club. One of Jerrys greatest joys was the company of family and good friends at the family cottage at Brereton Lake. Jerry truly felt proud to have such a large circle of loyal friends in both Manitoba and Minnesota. He touched many lives, and will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial reception for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, October 30 between 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. All are welcome to attend, to reminisce and celebrate the life of an exceptional man. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
