AGNES BICHSEL On Sunday, October 27, 2002, Mrs. Agnes Bichsel, aged 93 years, (nee Zgraggen) passed away peacefully at Betel Home, Selkirk, MB Agnes Bichsel was born in Schattdorf, Canton Uri, Switzerland on March 31, 1909. Following the death of her husband, Frederick Bichsel, Agnes Bichsel supported herself and her daughter by working at a factory operated by the Swiss Government. Agnes Bichsel emigrated from Switzerland to Canada in 1961 and worked at Motor Coach Industries until her retirement. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; sisters, Herminie and Frieda; companion Alfred Zgraggen; and daughter Agnes Muheim. Survived by her brothers, Josef and Ernst; her son-in-law Fritz Muheim; grandchildren, Danniella and Martin Travis Muheim; and her friend Ruth Carriere. Agnes enjoyed the outdoors and camping until she moved into Betel Home. She will be remembered for her avid pursuit of physical fitness and her enjoyment of her exercise bike. Agnes spent much of her time at Betel Home pursuing various recreational activities including crafts, bowling, and dancing. The family would like to thank the nursing, recreational staff and others at Betel Home for their special attention to Grammy and the family. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted at the Betel Home Foundation, 212 Manchester, Selkirk, MB R1A 0B6 Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in the Little Britain United Cemetery.
