RICHARD (PUNKY) McIVOR Suddenly on Friday, October 25, 2002 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, Richard McIvor, beloved husband of Donna for 38 years, passed away at the age of 63 years. Prayers will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie on Tuesday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Deniss Roman Catholic Church, Haywood, MB on Wednesday, October 30 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the family plot at the St. Deniss churchyard cemetery. Richard was born on September 27, 1939, son of Tom and Irene McIvor at Carman, MB. He was raised and received his education in the Layland District. He then helped out on the family farm before moving to Winnipeg. He met Donna Odger and they made their home in Winnipeg where they raised their family of six children. He was employed in the construction industry, and as a carpet layer. Richard was known as a "jack of all trades" in his working and all aspects of his life. Richards hobbies included restoring old cars and trucks and was well known for his tool collection. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Irene McIvor; a twin daughter on January 1, 1974; four brothers and one sister. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his loving memory his loving wife Donna, one son Richard Shane, five daughters, Jacqueline, Deborah-Ann, Rolande, Monique, and Noelle; nine grand-children, Michael, Amy, Krystal, Stephinie, William (B.J.), Jordon, Ashley, Amanda, and Austin; and one great-grandson Joseph. Also surviving Richard are his four brothers, five sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
