SEABROOK (AUSTMAN) (nee HERMANSON) June 20, 1907 - October 26, 2002 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on October 26, 2002 at St. Boniface General Hospital. Wildora (Wilda) was the last surviving sister of 10 children born to Hermann and Snjolaug Hermannsson. Her siblings were Anna, Max, William, Nya, Bjorg, Rosa, Sandy, Aida and John. She was predeceased by her son Donald Austman in 1989 and by her husband Percy Seabrook in 1990. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Rosalee Seabrook (Russ) grandchildren, Chris (Cindi), Dana (Ruth), Randy (Rosa), Greg (Janet), and Kerry (Laurel) their father Chic Seabrook (Joyce) Donalds children, Laurel (Les), Shannon (Orla), Pamela (Darrell), Melissa (Cameron), Todd and Jonathan and their mother June Burgess. Wilda was also much loved and will be missed by Sheila (Dons wife) and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Alexia, Brendan, Sean, Bailey, Alastair, Selina, Emily, Gillian, Adam and Sarah. Wilda graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1928. She married Jon Austman in 1929, moved to California where she began her nursing career and where Don was born; then moved back to the General in Winnipeg where she ended her career as a supervisor to marry Percy Seabrook in 1969. Sharing their retirement together, Wilda and Perc bowled at the Empress Lanes for years and enjoyed weekends at the cottage at Sandy Hook with family. Wilda was a very caring and compassionate person, loved by all who were fortunate enough to come into her life. She was a devotee of the horse racing at Polo Park and Assiniboia Downs and loved playing the electric organ, reading, solving crosswords and tending her garden. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or to a charity of your choice.
