NYKOLA (NICK) WERSTIUK March 7, 1923-October 26, 2002 After a lengthy illness, Nick Werstiuk, aged 79, in the presence of his wife Mary and daughter Karen, passed away at Percy E. Moore Hospital, Hodgson, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Augustine; brothers, Paul, George, Bill, John and Mike. Nick is survived by his beloved wife Mary (Roman), his daughter Karen (Brian Stevenson), granddaughter Melissa, great-grandson Keenan, grandson Joshua of Peguis, son Dennis, daughter Linda (David Murdock), granddaughter Nicole, daughter Peggy, grandson Blake, all of Koostatak; brothers, Sam of Fort McMurray, AB, Harry of Moosejaw, SK, sister Mary Iwasiw of Winnipeg, MB, cherished nephew George (Sandra) of Scarborough, ON, sister Helen Cukic of British Columbia, as well as other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by four stepchildren, Robert Roman, Bahamas, Diana Popowich (John) Tyndall, Camie Abas (Keith) Stonewall and their children; Tyler, Travis and Tamara; Floyd Roman (Sylvie) of Selkirk, MB, and their children, Crystal, Vannessa and Jennifer. Nick believed in the resurrection hope (John 5:28-29) and served his God JEHOVAH faithfully to his last moments. Viewing will be held Wednesday, October 30, at the Poplarfield Community Hall at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Poplarfield Community Cemetery.
