TERRY SMITH September 27, 1945 - October 25, 2002 After a difficult but bravely fought battle with cancer, Terry, beloved husband, father, son, brother, special uncle and dear friend, passed away on Saturday October 26, 2002. Among the many who cherish his memory are his wife Allison, daughters, Tricia and Rylie; mother Eileen; sisters, Pam Moody (Reg) and Linda Smith-Lawless (Jack) sisters-in-law, Trudy Nordhaug (Miles) and Joyce White; brother-in-law David MacMurphy; and numerous other close relatives and friends. Terry, a respected downtown business man was admired by many. His customers were always very important to him and gave him a great sense of achievement. Competitive fishing, billiards and poker were his passion. His cool, calculated approach was the reason for his great success in tournaments and recreational play. His thoughtful and genuine approach to competition and business put comfort in opponents and customers alike. Terry loved and lived life to the fullest, never giving up on his dreams and goals. Never losing sight of the simple joy of living. The family would like to thank the wonderful and compassionate Palliative Care staff of the Grace Hospital. Your guidance and compassion deeply touched us all. We are also grateful to Cancer Care Manitoba. A celebration of Terrys life will be held at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St., on Tuesday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terrys memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermont Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or Palliative Care Unit in car of the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3M7.
