JOHN STANLEY BAKOWSKI Peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2002 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, John passed away at the age of 87 years with his family at his side. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Agnes, son Clifford (Linda), sister Bernice Porter, brother Bill Baker, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents; brother Frank Baker; sisters, Helen Hiendel and Marion Teebo. John was an employee of the Winnipeg Transit for 34 years. He was a member of the St. John Cantius Society as well as the Canadian Polish Athletic Club. Thanks to all the staff of the 4th floor, Unit 11 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Ave. Viewing will take place one-half hour prior to the Mass. Fr. Henryk Uczniak will be officiating, with interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eugene Kostyra, Ray Kostyra, Gary Porter, Bill Porter, John Tropak, and Frank Slivinski.
