MOLLY GIRMAN After a long, happy and healthy life, Molly Girman quietly passed away at the age of 82, on Thursday, October 24, 2002, with her daughter Claudia at her side. Predeceased by her husband Fritz and son Glenn, Molly leaves behind her daughter Claudia and son-in-law Martyn of Ladner, BC, and her son Lloyd and daughter-in-law Lea of Winnipeg, and grandchildren, Jordan, Jared and Joshua. Molly grew up in the vibrant north end of Winnipeg and lived her life in East Kildonan before moving to Vancouver a few years ago. The neighbourhood in East Kildonan was a close and tight knit family and a very significant part of Mollys life. She took great joy in the many friends that she held dear: Dot and Pete Wilby, Dorothy and Dick Howard, neighbours Edie and Wally Derpak and Mary Daniels, and all their children. She was renowned by all who knew her for her gardening and sewing skills. Her doll clothes have delighted children and adults around the world. Molly was very active in the church, the school, and in community organizations working tirelessly on committees and fund raising, but her main focus of attention was always her children and her grandchildren. Molly loved bingo and poker. The Tuesday night games at their home in East Kildonan, with Molly at the table alongside six hard nosed poker playing men, made her a legend. Her last hours were spent playing poker at the Kinsmen Recreation Center in Tsawassen, BC, where she came away the big winner. Special thanks to the Delta Hospital Emergency ward for their loving attention. In Winnipeg, a memorial service for friends and family will be held at noon on December 26 at the Pavilion in Kildonan Park. It was Mollys wish that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Salvation Army.
