DENNIS SCOTT JOHNSTON February 8, 1947 - October 27, 2002 With his family at his side, Dennis passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer on October 27, 2002, at Riverview Health Centre. He was predeceased by his parents, Norris and Berenice; his mother-in-law Frances Curry; and brothers-in-law, Keith Krutzer and Lynn Wilkinson. Left to cherish fond memories are his wife Dawn Marie, son Scott, daughter Cristin, and son-in-law Justin Chudyk. He will also be greatly missed by his sisters, Darlene Wilkinson and Dawn Johnston; brother Dale (Wendy) along with nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Stacey), Krista (Mitch), Carmen, Rene, Michelle (Ryan), Keith, Tara, Brendan and Laura. He will be fondly remembered by his father-in-law Jack Curry; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Jo-Anne Curry; niece and nephew, Meaghen (Cory) and Jonathon. Family and friends were Dennis pride and joy. His home, yard and garden was the gathering place of numerous celebrations which leaves us all with smiles of many good times. Dennis was born in Oak Lake on February 8, 1947. After graduating from Grade 12, he received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg. Following seven years with Woolco in Winnipeg and Edmonton, he returned to Oak Lake in 1977 to take over management of Specialized Soil Products. In 1987 he joined Equinox Industries as Marketing Manager, a career which offered him many challenges and international travel opportunities which he loved. Memorial services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Wednesday, October 30 at 3:00 p.m. with reception to follow. A private interment will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Scott, Gerry Smith, David Harrison, Rod Bollman, Lyn Hallson, Bob Murdock, Garnet Freiheit, Wayne Vanrobaeys and Lorne Repay. Words fail to express our deep appreciation for the support and exemplary care given to Dennis throughout his illness by the staff at Grace Oncology, St. Boniface Pain Clinic and Riverview Health Centre. A sincere thank you to all our family and friends for their love and support during this very difficult time.
