JAMES STEVEN MAY It is with sadness the family of James Stephen May announce his passing at St. Boniface Hospital, October 28, 2002. James is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vivian; and his sons, Brian and Kenneth; daughter-in-law Gemmy (Brian) and three grandchildren, Lindsay, Steven and Cheryl. He is also survived by his sister Mary Anne; and brother Bert (Linda) as well as many nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his parents and brother Bud. James was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the Norwood district. He worked for North Star Oil and Shell Oil combined for over 40 years. James was a loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He always stressed the importance of education. His best advice was, "Get that piece of paper." James, or Jimmy as he was known by his friends, loved to fly. He earned his wings in 1970. He was especially proud of his grandson, Steve, the day he came to show Grandpa his pilots logbook. James always felt young at heart and never considered himself to be old. He was friendly and outgoing and made friends with everyone he spoke to and loved to talk to everyone both young and old. He will be sadly missed. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating James life will be held Saturday, November 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, located at 680 Archibald St. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Arrangements have been entrusted to: EDWARD J. COUTU LTD.
