GEORGE HARRY MCKENZIE WALKER 1922 - 2002 With his loving family around him, George passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on Thursday, October 31, 2002. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Rita of 58 years of marriage; his loving children, Dianne (Ross) of Vancouver, BC, Robert (Barbara) of Edmonton, AB, Richard (Ning) of Hong Kong and Beijine and Deborah (Richard) of Winnipeg, MB; his loving grandchildren, Jane (Chris), Megan, Robert, Kevin, David, Ian and grandson Alexander (Tara) loving great-grandchildren, Ryan, Noah and Jasmine. Also to mourn his passing is his brother Herbert (Patricia) of San Jose, CA; niece Linda (Jim) and son Nolan of San Jose, CA; and nephew Mark (Janice) also of San Jose; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father George and mother Hilda. He was proud of the years he served in the R.C.A.F. in England where he met and married his beloved Rita. George was actively involved with the War Time Pilots Association. He owned a hobby shop in the North End in Winnipeg before joining London Life, where he retired after 35 years. George was a very keen model builder and in his retirement years he became a very accomplished carver of Indian and African masks. He was very proud of his familys accomplishments and enjoyed the time he spent with his family. His humour and love will be a void in their lives. George will be greatly missed by family and his many friends. Georges funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 5 at 1:00 p.m. in the Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave. at Belvidere Street. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations in Georges memory may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 1X3 as his two little pals will miss him. SLEEP NOW MY LOVE.
