Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMA HARRIS (nee WILLIAMS) 1937 - 2002 Peacefully, on Oct-ober 28, 2002, Norma Harris passed over. She leaves to mourn, her devoted husband Peter; sons, Chad (Candace) and Blake; grandsons, Christian, Tyler and Kyle; brothers, David and Brian and their families in England; as well as numerous friends here and overseas. She was predeceased by her mother Ellen, her sister Joan and brother Derek. Norma was born and raised in Mansfield, England. In 1967, she followed her fiance Pete to Canada, where they married and settled in St. Vital. Norma was a very loving and caring person with a great sense of humour. Her greatest joys in life were her flowers and her children. Her love of children shone through at the St. Amant Centre. She had started as a volunteer at the Centre, but the staff soon noted she had a gift for working with the children and she was soon hired on. She was employed there for many years until she was forced to leave due to Parkinsons Disease. Over the last few years, Normas Parkinsons slowly took her spirit. Her remaining days were spent at St. Boniface Hospital. She was a patient on Wards 4B and 5E. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nursing staff and aides of these wards for their caring, support and compassion during this time. The family also wishes to thank special friends Wilfred and Mildred Fingas, Gerry and Sally Mastaler and Tracy Criggie for their support, devotion and friendship. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Normas memory to the St. Amant Centre or the Parkinsons Foundation.
