Date of Passing: Oct 18, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATTHEW ECKERT 1985 - 2002 It is with great regret that we have to announce the sudden passing of Matt, on October 18, 2002. Matt is survived by his parents, Gord and Louise Eckert of Kamloops; grandparents, Orlgene and Mary Legros of Dryden, ON and Don and Marjorie Eckert of Winnipeg. He had many aunts and uncles and cousins. Matt leaves to mourn many friends in Kamloops, Kitimat, Dryden and Winnipeg. Matt was born in Dryden and resided there until the age of five when his family moved to Kitimat, BC. Matt had many friends in Kitimat and attended Mount Elizabeth High School. The family moved to Kamloops 18 months ago and Matt was currently attending grade 12 at Kamloops Secondary School and worked at the Versatile Restaurant. In these short months Matt made an unbelievable amount of friends. Matt was the type of person who never liked to see other people get their feelings hurt, and was always a caring and forthright person. Matt liked school and was looking forward to graduation and enrollment to UCC next fall. He loved music, computers and cars. The love of his life was Jean and he will take her memory to heaven, and always cherish the time they had together. Thank you to all the wonderful gestures of love from friends and family, and a special thanks to Al and Marg Hawkins for being there in our darkest hour. Nancy, Jeff, Caroline, Dale and Ken, words cant describe how supportive you have been. There was a celebration of Matts life Wednesday, October 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the Schoening Funeral Chapel. Matt will be missed by all. Love you Bubba. Mom and Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kamloops Food Bank, 422 Lorne St., Kamloops, BC V2C 1W3 in memory of Matt would be appreciated. Schoening Funeral Service, 513 Seymour St., in care of arrangements.
