He was born on September 20, 1920 in Clearwater, MB. He served in the Second World War as an aeroengine mechanic, stationed in Quebec and in England. After the war he returned to Clearwater where he was employed as a gravel truck operator with the municipality, doing mechanical work in the winters at Highway Motors, Pilot Mound. He later worked for the Water and Sanitation Board, operating the water plant in Pilot Mound up until his retirement in 1985. He was a faithful member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Earle had many stories to tell about his early years growing up on the farm. Something he retained from his rural background was his great love of horses. He enjoyed many hours watching his sons working or showing their horses. During the past year his TV was tuned nonstop to the horse racing channel and he frequently asked "How are the horses doing"? Earle and Margaret enjoyed many years at their trailer in Mesa, Arizona taking part in all the activities with old and new friends. At home they enjoyed attending the many activities of their grandchildren, who were a great source of pride for them. A funeral service was held at Knox United Church, Pilot Mound on Friday, October 11. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery where a farewell tribute was played by piper Ted Brown.
