Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENNIS R. LOFTO April 23, 1940 - November 2, 2002 With great sadness, we announce Dennis passing on November 2, 2002. Dennis was a very private, gentle, kind-hearted person who enjoyed his family and friends very much and we will miss him. Dennis will be remembered by his partner Cory; his brothers, Gene (Joan), George (Frances) and Don (Jane) his nieces and nephews and their families, and many friends. After a long, successful career with the City of Winnipeg, Dennis founded and operated Prairie Aviaries. He was respected internationally for his work with Prairie Aviaries and his love for birds and animals was evident in his work and at his farm. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Starbuck, MB, on Wednesday, November 6 at 1:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Berard, Linda Brown, Horace Smaczylo, Ken Werner, and Walt and Ann Tecklenburg. The family would like to thank everyone who sent cards, letters and flowers and those who visited Dennis in the hospital. He appreciated it all so much. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.

Met Dennis in Quebec late 70s at a congress, visited him in early 80s and mid 80s. Took care of his old Afgan's puppies on Palmerston Street while he was visiting his dying dad. Unfortunatly lost all the pups which made him sad. I also remember while I was visiting the imported Lancia car which he had the bad news that it had been stolen before being sold to him. I even remember going to the Dicotheque he owned. Saw him the last time at a congress later in Chigago where I believe he visited one of his brothers. Last time we spoke was in early 90s which appeared talking with someone not as jovial as I had been knowing him. He was sure a generous person and animal lover. Been wondering for years what happened to him. Lost the few photos of him. Would sure appreciate if anyone could get me one. Now my mind will be at peace knowing this sad news after so long. R.I.P. dear friend, you were for sure one of the greatest and sweetest people I have ever met. - Posted by: Michel Côté (Good friend in Quebec City) on: Jun 09, 2012
