EVA BELYK (nee FORTIN) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Eva Belyk on November 2, 2002, at the age of 76 years. Eva was born on November 11, 1925, in Winnipeg, MB. In 1949 she married Clement Belyk and together they farmed and raised their family in the Oak Point area. She was a hard worker, a caring and giving person who loved to cook and collect recipes. Eva looked forward to planting and tending her large garden every summer. Her family was her priority in life and she looked forward to get-togethers, outings, and a good game of cards. Eva faced many hardships throughout her life, including losing her husband to cancer when her children were still quite young. And later experiencing and courageously surviving breast cancer. She will be dearly missed by her family, sons, John (Heather) of Selkirk, MB, Robert of Oak Point, MB, and Tim (Carol) of Libau, MB; and her daughter Irene (Jim) Runolfson; grandsons, Jeff and Greg of Lundar, MB. She is also survived by sisters, Alma Berthelet, Agnes Chartrand, Marie (Lorne) Garbet, and Alice Walsh; and brothers, Alcide (Joan), Roland, Alfred (Ingiborg) also other family members and many good friends. Eva was predeceased by her husband Clement in 1973; parents, Ernest and Laura Fortin; brothers, Albert, Alexis, Leo, Joe and Alex; a sister Clara; and three siblings in infancy. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7 at the Lundar Legion Hall, with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the Legion Hall. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Jeff Runolfson, Greg Runolfson; nephews Ben Berthelet, Roy Fortin, Fred Chartrand and Dude Chartrand. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald, St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8, or to a charity of ones choice.
