Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER LOUIS CREIGHTON March 11, 1921 - November 1, 2002 Peacefully at home on Friday, November 1, 2002, with his loving wife Edwina of 56 years at his side. Dad will be greatly missed by his children, Laurie (Joann), Ed (Linda), and Nancy (Bud). Grampa will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Tara (Chris), Pamela, Dirk (Dulce), Nicolle, Natalie, Andrew and Carrie, who would always light up his life. Dad also leaves brothers-in-law Arthur (Edith) Kidner and Harvey Broomfield. Dad was predeceased by his loving granddaughter Jennifer Creighton. Dad enjoyed life to the fullest. He was active at the East Elmwood Community Club as a coach for many years. Dad retired after 36 years with the Winnipeg Fire Fighters, with the rank of District Chief. He also served proudly with the R.C.A.F. in the Second World War as a Flight Lieutenant and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #9. He actively enjoyed many years of retirement, travel, cottage life and his precious times with his treasured grandchildren. Special thanks to staff for the wonderful care at Health Sciences Centre Dialysis Unit. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, Dad had requested donations be made to the Fire Fighters Burn Fund Inc., 303-83 Garry St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4J9.
