SAMUEL GELFENSHTEIN It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Samuel Gelfenshtein, at the young age of 48. Sam died on Monday, October 28, 2002 following a brave battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife Malka; and step-sons, David, Murray and Michael. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Phil; sister-in-law Brenda (Daniel and Rachel) Unger family, cousins Sam, Inna (Allan and Emily), and Eda (Marina and Alex). Sam was born in Russia and came to Canada in 1983, where he worked in the trucking industry. He had four loves, his wife Malka, step-sons, driving and cars. Sam was a gentle soul who always helped others in need. He was exceptionally kind and compassionate. Cancer may have taken this wonderful person we love, but it could not take the love from the person. He will be missed but never lost, as he will be in our hearts always. We would like to thank all our family and friends for their love and support. Special thanks to the Home Care staff, especially Joan for her exceptionally kind and compassionate care. Funeral services were held at Chesed Shel Emes with burial following at the Bnay Abraham cemetary on October 29. Pallbearers were Michael, Murray, David Bazak, Phil, Daniel Gerson, and Sam Gekht. Sam, you will always be our strength and inspiration and will never be forgotten. If friends so desire donations may be made to Cancercare Manitoba.
