BARRY RAYMOND MAYER 1951 - 2002 Moments after a gentle goodbye to family and friends, Barry released himself to the Lord the evening of Saturday, November 2, 2002. Born in Winnipeg, March 13, 1951, Barry lived a short but fulfilling life loved and respected by all those who know him. After mastering his heart attack in 1997, and then brave and courageous battle with cancer, he is now at peace. Barry was raised and lived in Anola, MB where with his passion for the land, he established a beef operation on the family farm in partnership with his wife, Darlene. Along with this venture, he was employed with CP Rail as a supervisor of the Weston shops for 30 years. Since 1999, due to health limitations he was unable to continue duties at CP, but was determined to continue to be with his animals and stay connected to his love of farming. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Darlene; daughter Tricia and her husband Dave; grandchildren, Cody and Brooke; son Randy and his girlfriend Tara; his parents, Raymond and Phyllis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis (Ed), Marlaine (Lee), Debbie (Robert), Rose (Milan), Val (Ron), Sandy (Greg) his nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and many friends. Predeceased by grandparents, father and mother-in-law, sister-in-law, great-niece, and great-nephew. He will also be greatly missed by his dog "Seiko", whom he loved and spent many hours with by his side. Thank you to all family and friends for their support. A special thank you to Dr. de Moissac and nurses at Ste. Anne Hospital, Ste. Anne, MB for their loving care. A celebration of Barrys life will be held Wednesday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Chapel, Trans Canada Hwy. 1 at Green Acres Lane.
