HIDEO (HARRY) TAZUMI 1920 - 2002 With his family at his side, Harry Tazumi peacefully passed away on November 2, 2002, at Golden Links Lodge. Harry leaves to mourn his wife Jean and his children, Anne, Brian, Jerry, and Tara. Four brothers, Harold (Kay), Frank (Kim), Rip (Hana), and Thomas (Mary) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Steve, and sisters, Kathy (Kaita) and Kay (Hirayama). Harry was born August 19, 1920, in Hammond, BC. In 1941, he relocated to Manitoba where he later met and married Jean in 1950. He retired from Canada Packers in 1984. He loved to watch sports especially the Blue Bombers and was a keen bowler and gardener. In his retirement, he developed new interests in woodcarving and swimming. Prior to his illness, Harry was actively involved with the Hoyukai Seniors Club at the Manitoba Buddhist Church and was generous with his time for his family and friends. Sincere thanks to staff and volunteers of Golden Links Lodge. Their care, compassion, and support to Mom and the family over the past 16 months is deeply appreciated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 6 at 8:00 p.m. at the Manitoba Buddhist church, 825 Winnipeg Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, The Heart and Stroke Building, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
