Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDA VIOLET ROBERTS (nee BUNCE) While visiting her daughter in Edmonton, Ida peacefully went to be in the arms of The Lord on October 31, 2002. Ida was born September 29, 1926 in Cyprus River, MB. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Russell in 1996, her mother and father, Sarah and Jack Bunce; and her brother John. Ida met the love of her life, Russell, while working at Pauline Chambers Company in Winnipeg. They were married on May 18, 1946. They lived in Winnipeg until 1962 and then moved to the Balmoral district where they farmed until retirement. She enjoyed the days when they used to go camping at Lac du Bonnet, gardening, knitting, bingo and having tea with visitors. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Ida will be lovingly remembered by her seven children, John (Rosanna), Priscilla (Leonard) Quigley of Winnipeg, Joan (Wilfred) Kozub of Selkirk, MB, Helen (Terry) Scott of Edmonton, Danny (Debra), David (Connie) of Winnipeg, and Peggy (Al) Hamil of Esquimalt, BC. Also a special son-in-law Darren Steele of Ottawa, who she considered as a son, 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a brother Alfie (Cherie) and a sister-in-law Shirley Bunce of Winnipeg. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Also survived by a very special friend she called buddy - Dorothy Christmas. Cremation took place in Edmonton on November 3. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 6 at 3:00 p.m. at the Stonewall Legion in Stonewall, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
