JAMES (JIM) CHIMUK It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Chimuk, beloved husband, father and grandfather on Sunday, November 3, 2002. Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bernice; son David (Myrosia) grand-children, Larysa and Alexa; brother Arthur Chimuk (Helen) sisters, Olga Sharpe (Aca), Alexandria Prasol (Russell) sisters-in-law, Ann Chimuk, Mary Chimuk; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary; brothers, William, Morris, Walter; sister-in-law Jeanette; and niece Darlene. Jim was born in Rosser, MB on October 31, 1925. For many years Jim was in sales and retired in 1985. He served as secretary-treasurer of St. Mary the Protectress up until his passing. Jim was an active member of the Brotherhood of St. Marys and the Brotherhood of St. Andrews. He was also an honorary member of the Ukrainian National Home Association. Jim was very kind hearted and a friend to all those who knew him. Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, at Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 7, also at the Cathedral with Rev. J.S. Buciora officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the St. Marys Brotherhood. Active pallbearers will be Chris Chimuk, Tim Chimuk, Tom Bender, Robert Austman, John Moniz, Perry Hilderbrandt and Jamie Doer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the 2nd Floor at Grace Hospital.
