SANDOR (ALEX) SARAY Peacefully, on Nov-ember 4, 2002, Sandor (Alex) Saray passed away at the age of 56 at the Health Sciences Centre, after complications stemming from cancer. He will be missed by his devoted wife Margaret; and his loving children Markian, Monica, Julian and Raphael. He is also survived by his older sister Sari Izmindi as well as numerous relatives in Hungary and Slovakia. He was predeceased by his parents, coincidentally named Sandor and Margaret Saray. Born on November 23, 1945 in Mor, Hungary, Sandor graduated from trade school and worked as a millwright. He immigrated to Canada in 1968, where he continued applying his trade. His growing knowledge and experience with the installation of heavy machinery allowed him to apply his skills and expertise throughout North America. He married his wife, Margaret Duduk, in 1974 and God blessed them with four loyal children. Through his examples he emphasized the meaning of education, hard work, and helping others in need. After working with numerous companies, he gained acclaim by assisting in the building of several generating stations throughout northern Manitoba. Sandors reputation allowed him to start his own company, Dormar Construction Inc. in 1984. His excellent workmanship and sharp wit made him one of the most respected and reputable figures in his trade. Sandor and Dormar are noted for their work with Manitoba Hydro, Simplot, Nexen, Pepsi Co., McCains and many other companies too lengthy to mention, due to many years in the construction business. His generosity was best directed towards the Hungarian community, of which he was a notable part of. He will be most remembered as a talented craftsman, supportive father, compassionate husband and a person who left a smile on the faces that knew him. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Scurrah, Dr. Maxwell and the oncology staff at the Victoria Hospital, Dr. Lipschitz and the staff at the Health Sciences Centre. We would also like to thank Rev. Fr. M. Kouts and Rev. Protodeacon M. Woroby for their visits. As per Sandors request, the body will be cremated and his ashes sent to his sister in Hungary. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor St., with Rev. Fr. N. Yakiwchuk officiating. Reception in the church hall to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandors memory to United Hungarian Fund, care of Gino Kosary, 304-870 Cambridge St., Winnipeg, MB R3M 3H5.
