JAMES A. M. (MAC) USHER James A.M. Usher passed away at the Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, on November 3, 2002. He was born in Elgin, MB, on June 2, 1917. Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Peggy, in October 1975; his parents; and his brothers, George and Harold. He is survived by a daughter Elizabeth and husband Gerald Prudhomme of Winnipeg; and a son Norman and his wife Susan of Shawnigan Lake, BC. He also leaves four grandchildren, Mitchell (Tracy) and Shannon (Casey) of Winnipeg and Daniel and Jamie of Victoria, BC. Jim is also survived by a sister Dorothy Jacobson of Thunder Bay, ON, and a sister-in-law Lu Usher of Chicago, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim had been employed with the Winnipeg Transit for 37 years when he retired in January 1983 as a supervisor. He also served in the Lake Superior Regiment and R.C.A.M.C., overseas during the Second World War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Fort Rouge Branch) and a longtime member of the Crescent Fort Rouge United Church. Funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Thursday, November 7 at 12:30 p.m., with Rev. Pat Wotton officiating. Visitation will take place one-half hour prior to the service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jims memory to the CancerCare Manitoba, ON109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9.
