Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENIS ANTHONY ASSEIRO September 26, 1960 - November 1, 2002 It is with the most heartbreaking sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our most cherished husband, father, son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. Denis was a precious, strong and loving husband to his wife Kathy, and a fun-loving, involved and adoring father to their four-year old daughter Beth. The oldest of three sons, Denis was born in Portugal and came to Canada as a baby, with his mother and father. He grew up in Red Lake, ON and later moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba where he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Law degree (attaining the highest score out of 1200 students in the Family Law bar admission course). It was during law school that he and Kathy met and became best friends. They were married in 1991 and made a wonderful and loving life for themselves in Kenora, ON. Denis practiced law in Kenora and quickly developed a strong reputation for his compassion, professional ability and strong moral character. He enjoyed camping, swimming and sailing with Kathy and Beth. He also took pleasure in fishing, skeet shooting and the occasional 21 year-old scotch with his buddies. Left to cherish Denis memories are his wife Kathy and young daughter Beth; his mother Maria; brothers, Hamilton (wife Sherry) and Anthony (wife Susan and son Anthony) parents-in-law, John and Elizabeth Stefanchuk; baba Anne Ewacha; and brother-in-law Billy (wife Jodie and daughter Emma). He will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins, and by countless friends. As time eases the pain we now feel, family, friends and colleagues will remember Denis for his kind, caring and generous nature and for his willingness to help others whenever and wherever he saw a need. His passing has left the world a much less hopeful place. For all who wish to attend, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall in Kenora. A lunch will follow immediately afterwards at the Rideout Community Centre in Kenora, where friends and family can come together for support and pay tribute to Denis life by sharing their special memories. A charter bus has been arranged to leave from Winnipeg to transport those wishing to attend in Kenora. Please call 338-4691 and speak to Billy or Brian for further details. In lieu of flowers, please pledge a contribution to your favourite cause or to a "Beth" fund.
