ALISON DUNN With loving family at her side, Alison Dunn slipped peacefully away on November 6, 2002, at Middlechurch Home, seven weeks before her 93rd birthday. Predeceased by her husband Orval (1979) her brothers, Andy and Jim Taylor; and great-granddaughter Olivia Dunn (2002), she is survived by; daughter Alison Stanwick and husband Joe; grand-daughters, Jackie Hunter and husband Curtis (Brittany, Jordan, Derek) Brenda Schoenborn and husband Chris (Samantha, Katherine) Michelle Richard and husband Dan (Madyson) grandson Chris Stanwick and friend Bonnie; son Bob and wife Nancy; grandsons, Lincoln and his wife Frances Flook (Gareth) and Lerrin; granddaughter Lisa; son Murray and wife Dolores; granddaughter Nicole and grandson Michael; sister-in-law Gladys Taylor and Eva Rowe; and numerous nephews and nieces. Born Alison Wightman Taylor, on December 28, 1909, in Edinburgh, Scotland, Alison moved to Canada with her parents at the age of two, settling in Elmwood. In 1938, she married Orval, and they celebrated 41 years together before his death. They were among the original residents of Rivercrest, where Alison lived for more than 50 years. After her children were grown, she worked as assistant secretary-treasurer at the rural municipalities of West St. Paul, Dunnottar and Victoria Beach. Alison loved her church, Rivercrest United, and was active through the years as a member of the United Church Women, in the choir and as treasurer for the Sunday School, always in the quiet way that was her trademark. She loved to play the organ, quietly in her home, and was athletic much of her life, first as a competitive tennis player and speedskater, and in later years as a five-pin bowler. Thanks to all who were kind to her all her life, and who found the time to share time with her during the two years she lived at Middlechurch, and to the caring people on Ward B-2 at the Home. Friends and relatives are welcome to attend a visitation on Friday, November 9, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Rivercrest United Church, 4249 Main St., West St. Paul. Reception to follow at Rivercrest Community Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME 220 HESPELER AT HENDERSON HWY. 668-3151
