LYDIA KALWEIT September 27, 1911 - November 5, 2002 Peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at the East Gate Lodge, Beausejour, MB, Lydia Kalweit aged 91 years passed away. She leaves to cherish her memory her son John Goritz (Ruth) of Calgary, AB; daughters, Alma DeGroot (Stan) of Selkirk, MB, Lillie Gawiak of Winnipeg and Elsie McTaggart of Winnipeg. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Linda Stock, Barry Goritz, Karen Maciejko, Judy Best, Robert DeGroot, Barbara Isleifson, Margaret Dillon, Ronald Gawiak, Doris Gawiak, Debbie Johnson, Donna McTaggart; as well as 23 great-grandchildren. Lydia was predeceased by her first husband Adolph Goritz, her second husband Emil Kalweit in 1984. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church, Beausejour with Pastor Dale Berg officiating. Interment in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of the Shamrock Unit of the East Gate Lodge for their caring attention. The compassion and sensitivity of the staff were most appreciated. You can close your eyes and pray that shell come back, or you can open your eyes and see all shes left. Your heart can be empty because you cant see her, or you can be full of the loved you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that shes gone, or you cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what shed want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
