FRIEDERICH (RED) EFRAM KIESMAN It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother Fred on Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at the age of 80 years. He was born on December 8, 1921 in Moosehorn, MB Remaining to cherish Freds memory are his wife Otilia of 59 years of marriage; his children, Bev (Roy), Connie (Jim) Oarval (Sharon), Darlene (Lloyd) and Judy (Gil) 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Adolph (Mary), Raymond (Terry), Ernest, Leo (Rose) and Theodore (Barbara) sisters-in-law, Nina and Lydia as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, August (1973), Bertha (1984) brothers, Leonard in infancy, George (1982) and Elmer (1992). Dad was raised in the Moosehorn-Bayton District. He was confirmed in the St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Fred enlisted in the Armed Forces in July 1941 and was always disappointed that he would not serve in active duty. On November 6, 1943, Dad and Mom were married by Pastor Wolf in Winnipeg and lived most of his life in Marchand, MB Dad was employed as a Stationary Engineer at Canada Packers for 27 years and also worked for Prairie Protein Products and Friendly Family Farms until he retired in 1984. He enjoyed working with his horses. He had a great love for all living creatures and appreciated the beauty and goodness of each day. In his last few years "Farmer Fred" found great enjoyment in helping others. He had a great time in preparing food and preserves for his family and friends. A Celebration of Freds life will be held on Monday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St., Winnipeg, MB with Pastor Larry Ulrich officiating. For those who wish viewing will be one hour prior to his service. Dads interment will be held on Tuesday, November 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Glen Lawn Cemetery, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB Those wishing to join the family, please gather at the main entrance of the cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Pallbearers will be Dads grandchildren, David Kiesman, Vern Gall, Bentley Coates, Ryan Kiesman, Michael Turenne and Cory Gerbrandt.
