JOHN EDWARD OSBORNE November 28, 1943 - November 5, 2002 God saw him getting tired A cure was not to be; He wrapped him in His loving arms And whispered, "Come with Me." With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, at home with family at his side, John went peacefully to be with the Lord. John is survived by two brothers, Terry (Alice) Osborne of Winnipeg, and Roy Osborne of Ottawa; and two sisters, Mavourneen Worobec of Edmonton, and Dawn Williams of Eschborn, Germany. Nephews and nieces, Wendy Worobec (Neil Ferguson), Greg (Jill) Worobec and Brian Worobec, all of Edmonton, Brandy Williams (Perry Hamblin) of Eschborn, Germany, and Erin Osborne of Winnipeg; three great-nephews and one great-niece, Steven, Taylor and Teagen Worobec of Edmonton and Brandon Abel of Lloydminster; aunt Joan and uncle Cor Klaver of Edmonton; and cousin Allan Osborne and family of Edmonton. Special friends Pauline and Anna Lee of Willowdale, ON and Bill and Ted and families of Willowdale. Numerous other relatives in Canada, U.S.A. and England. John was predeceased by a baby sister Ruth in 1941, a baby nephew Steven Worobec in 1975, his father Edward Osborne in 1997, his mother Betty Osborne in 1998, and his brother-in-law Emil Worobec in 2001. Special thanks to Dr. Bruce Ritchie and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and the Palliative Home Care Team for their loving care and support. A prayer service will be held on Friday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Harmony Funeral Services Chapel, 10541 - 81 Avenue, Edmonton. Cremation to follow. Christian Burial of cremated remains to take place in July 2003. In lieu of floral tributes a donation may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
