JOHN J. PENNER Born August 28, 1914 Died November 6, 2002 Peacefully with his daughter Donna and her husband Richard at his side, at 88 years of age Dad went home to be with the Lord. Dad was born in Rosenthal, S. Russia to Johann and Maria Penner. He was predeceased by his loving wife Anne Miller in 1985; and his sisters, Mary, Helen and Agnes; and brother Paul. Dad leaves to cherish his memory, children, Randy and family, Gary and family, Erika (Richard Goossen) and family, Donna (Richard Zacharias) and family, Norman (Brenda) and family; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Dad married Anne Miller in 1959 and together they lovingly cared for her five children. Dad and Mom rededicated their lives to Christ in 1974. They farmed together on the home farm in Osborne, MB, for about 12 years, and then moved to Morris where he was employed by Flyer Industries. In his spare hours he took up the game of golf, which he enjoyed into his retirement. Other interests of Dads were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and curling. He was an active member of the Lions Club and he volunteered at the M.C.C. thrift store. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Ward of the Morris General Hospital, Box 519, Morris, MB R0G 1K0. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosenort Fellowship Chapel. Family viewing will be held at Morris Funeral Home on Saturday, November 9 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Special thanks to the Dick Zacharias family for accepting John into their family.
