DELMAR MARTIN WESTMACOTT April 7, 1923 - November 6, 2002 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, and grandfather, on Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at the Grace Hospital with his family at his side. Del is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Elaine; and his son Rick (Jan). "Pops"s memory will live on in his grandsons, Reid and Ryan (Robyn). Predeceased by his father Art and his mother Phyllis, Del is survived by brother Bob Westmacott; sister Cathy Christianson; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg in 1923, Del grew up in West Kildonan and served his country in the Air Force in the Second World War. His many years with Canadian Pittsburgh Industries laid the foundation for a successful manufacturers agency that he retired from in 1982. Dels passions were the Kinsmen Reh-Fit Centre and his many friends, gardening, farming, and goose hunting which established "Happy Acres" farm at Lenswood, MB. "Start up the tractor, Laine, were going to town." The family thanks all of the staff at the Grace General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care given to Del during his final days. A gathering of family and friends will take place Sunday, November 10 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral services will follow on Monday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m., also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
