DOROTHY MAY JACKSON (nee BANKS) Beloved mother, Dorothy May Jackson, aged 88, with her daughter Marilyn, close friend Kay Hemsley, Marilyns cousin Chris Jackson and priest John Caird at her side passed into eternal rest on November 6, 2002 at Tuxedo Villa. Left to cherish her memory dearest friend and almost daughter, Kay Hemsley who came into her life in 1963; nephew Archer Jackson and wife Chris, their daughters, Lee (Phil), Heather (Mike) and son Matthew; sister-in-law Mabel Banks; nephew Brian (Shearon) and children Scott and Sheri; cousins, Bill and Marion Keys, Frank and Kay Keys; and brother-in-law George Sumpton. Dorothy was predeceased by her devoted husband Arthur and brother Kenneth Banks. Dorothy was born in Fort Rouge, Winnipeg. For a short time after finishing school she worked in sales at Eatons. In October 1938 she met and married Arthur Jackson; they had one daughter Marilyn. To Art and Marilyn she devoted all her time. Dorothy never talked of her faith but it was ever present in her life. She attended St. James Anglican Church from the 1940s onward. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on November 8 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church with close friend Canon John Caird officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Among the pallbearers will be Archer Jackson and John Caird. Sincere thanks to many nurses on Station 3 at Tuxedo Villa, especially Deb, Ivy, Lori, Susan, Marcie and dietary aide Valerie for their love and kindness. Special thanks to John Davidson at Leatherdale Gardiner for his care and concern.
