Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM BYRNE WESTRAN October 16, 1924 - November 3, 2002 Died suddenly and greatly missed and forever loved. Predeceased by his wife Margaret Sheila Westran (nee Countryman). Byrne is survived by his daughters, Joan Westran, Nancy Westran and Lynn Ball (son-in-law) grandchildren, Christopher Greenan, Erin, Jeremy, Brennan and Jason Dimmell; brother John Patrick. Byrne was a member of the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve, telegrapher from 1943 to 1945; decorated Atlantic Star with France and Germany Clasp and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal Clasp and War Medal, Royal Canadian Navy and Regular Component, Warrant Officer 1951 to 1973; decorated Canadian Forces decoration with Clasp. Memorial service will be held in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra St., Victoria, BC on Tuesday, November 12 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Don Hatfield officiating. Refreshments will follow in the Sands Arbor Reception Centre. If friends so wish, donations in Byrnes memory may be made to the World Vision Canada, Memorial Childcare Fund, 3 - 12240 Horseshoe Way, Richmond, BC V7A 4X9.
