EDWARD RICARD On Thursday, November 7, 2002 at the Lions Prairie Manor, Edward Ricard, a resident of Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie, widower of the late Ernestine Ricard, passed away at the age of 87 years. Funeral service will take place at the St. Ambroise Roman Catholic Church on Monday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the family plot at the St. Ambroise Churchyard Cemetery. Edward then enlisted with the Canadian Army and served with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles serving overseas during the Second World War. He was wounded twice while in action. He married Ernestine Lavallee in 1956. They resided in Winnipeg where he was employed as a custodian at CFB Winnipeg. A position he held until his retirement. Edward was a member of the St. Ambroise Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Army Navy Air Force Veterans Association of Winnipeg. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and also served as a hunting guide. He also enjoyed doing wood working crafts. His favourite pastime was playing cards, aggravation and barrouch. Predeceased by his wife Ernestine in 1998; three brothers, Ben, Albert, Frank; two sisters, Alice and Agnus, he leaves to mourn his passing his five brothers, Fred, David, Aleric, Wesley and Harry; three brothers-in-law, Ernest, Oscar and Gordon; four sisters-in-law, Margaret, Myrtle and Therese Lavallee and Aurice Tessier; his special niece Cathy Fidler and many nieces and nephews.
