Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN ETHEL BUDD (nee BAILEY) May 17, 1911 - November 8, 2002 It is with deep sorrow that we must accept the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Kay Budd. With her family at her side, at the age of 91, Kay came home to be with her Saviour on November 8, 2002 at noon at the Concordia Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Joyce Schell and Stan (Terrie) Woodward; grandchildren, Linda (Dave) Floren, Terry (Pat) Schell, Joe (Trish) Schell, Devon Woodward, Derek Woodward, and Cheryl Woodward; great-grandchildren, Kathy Floren and Deanne Floren; special friend Sylvia Woodward; as well as many relatives and friends. Kay was the last living member of her family having been predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters, and her husband Chess Budd last in March of 1997. Mom was a very friendly and easy going person who always had a kind word about everybody. She loved to entertain and was a wonderful cook. If you visited Mom, you made sure you hadnt eaten because for within a few minutes of entering the house Mom would have filled the dining room table with a variety of food and snacks. She loved to play the organ with hymns like How Great Thou Art, Just a Closer Walk with Thee, Amazing Grace, What a Friend we have in Jesus, and In the Garden just to name a few. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Concordia Place and Concordia Hospital for the care that they have extended to Mom during her last days. Also a sincere gratitude to the staff at Misericordia Hospital for the great care they had given Mom while waiting for an opening to a nursing home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with Pastor Vance Kemsley officiating. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
