JOHN DAVID WARKENTIN John Warkentin, beloved husband of Martha of Winnipeg, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 81. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mindy (James) of Winnipeg, Elfe (Mark) of Oyama, BC; two sons, Erwin (Sylvia) of Brandon and David of Winnipeg, six grandchildren and one sister, Anna Pitz (Germany). He is predeceased by his parents and one brother. John immigrated to Canada in 1953. He was a very proud Canadian and enjoyed his freedom here. John loved his grandchildren and enjoyed making cribs and furniture for all the newborn in his family. John loved nature and being in his garden. He had a strong faith in God. Special thanks to Riverview Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care and family and friends for their support. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Mission Baptist Church with Rev. Eberhard Hees officiating. Interment to follow in Weidenfeld Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. and at the church prior to the service. If friends desire, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
