DELORES JEAN CARSON (nee WATSON) Suddenly on November 9, 2002 Delores Jean Carson (nee Watson) was called home to the Lord. She will be sadly missed by her seven children, Patricia Uren (Robert) of Brantford, ON, William Garfield (Fernanda) of Winnipeg, MB, Donald (Mary) of Sioux Lookout, ON, Ernest (Debbie) of Sioux Lookout, Donna Atkinson (Michael) of Winnipeg, John (Kim) of Winnipeg, and Bev (Randy) of Sioux Lookout; her 24 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ernest Watson, several nieces and nephews and her faithful sidekick Dennis Maxwell (Shakey). She was predeceased by her husband William (Cubby) Carson in 1974; and also by her parents, Edith and Stanley Watson; her sisters, Ida Lemmon, Olga Bell, Christine Goodie and Louise Watson; her brothers, Howard Watson and Stanley Watson. Delores was born May 27, 1935 in Sioux Lookout. She received her education at the Sioux Lookout Public School. In her early years she worked as a nurses aide at the Sioux Lookout Zone Hospital. She worked for many years at the former Muriel Boyle Centre and then at the First Step Womens Shelter. Mom has for many years been a foster parent for Kenora-Patricia Child and Family Services. She was a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Moms favourite pastime was playing bingo. She enjoyed the outdoors and always took pleasure in fishing and going up to camp. The family would like to thank Dr. ODriscoll and the nursing staff of the Sioux Lookout District Health Centre. A memorial service was held at the St. Marys Anglican Church with Rev. Susan Barclay officiating. Internment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sioux-Hudson Association for Community Living through The Sioux Lookout Funeral Home, Box 1449, Sioux Lookout, ON P8T 1B9.
