JOHANNA KRISTJANA ROSA GOODMAN It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, amma, great-amma and great-great-amma. Rosa was born at Hecla Island, MB on July 4, 1912. She was predeceased by her husband Kolbeinn; daughter Bernice; and sons, Arthur, Mundi, Franklin and Baby George. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, May, Gordon (Gloria), Rosa, Allan (Evelyn), Eric (Linda), Edward (Jacqueline) 80 grandchildren; 19 stepgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Rosa lived on the family farm north of Gimli all of her married life. Her greatest pleasures were the times spent with her family - the more the merrier. She was a very gentle, soft-spoken person who had a genuine interest in everyone she met, especially the children. There was a special warmth about her that welcomed you to her side or into her home. Rosa attended the Gimli Adult Day Program for Seniors, and always looked forward to seeing Alexis and spending time with her friends there, sharing stories and doing crafts. She was very dedicated to the Terry Fox Foundation, having participated in the Terry Fox Run and earning the oldest participant plaque for the past 10 years. There will be a memorial service at the Gimli Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16 with Pastor George Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Terry Fox Foundation or Gimli Adult Day Program. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the compassionate care shown to Mom and the family by the nursing staff of Johnson Memorial Hospital and Dr. Zeph Wiesenthal. Goda Not Elskan Mama Min Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
