WALTER STANLEY MIKLOVICH Peacefully at St. Boniface General Hospital on November 14, 2002 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Walter passed away at the age of 71 years. Walter was born on December 14, 1930 in Pobedim, Czechoslovakia and came to Canada with his family in 1938. He grew up on the farm and following his school years, Walter worked in mines in northern Manitoba as well as logging camps in British Columbia. In his latter years he worked as a machinist for Massey Ferguson in Toronto and retired in 1980. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Maria; sisters, Josie, Frances and Mary and brother Michael. He leaves to mourn, his sister Anne (Harmen) Westra and brothers, John, Joseph and Charles (Kathy) and many nephews and nieces. Walter will always be remembered as someone with a kind heart and willing to help anyone in need. He especially enjoyed being with children and always encouraged them to think on their own. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. The family would like to thank the palliative care unit at the St. Boniface General Hospital for their care and kindness. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 17 at the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Rev. Terance McGrath officiating.
