BLANCHE A. DOUVILLE (nee LUSSIER) Peacefully, at home on Saturday, November 16, 2002, Blanche Anna Douville, beloved wife of Isadore Douville passed into the arms of Jesus at the age of 79 years. She was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond and Edward. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 41 years; Isadore (tiny), her brother Gerald (June), sister-in-law Gladys and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Blanche was born in Morris, MB on March 1, 1923. She worked in Winnipeg for the C.N.R for 18 years in the Express Department. Then she met the love of her life Tiny and they married on September 16th, 1961. They moved to Flin Flon where they lived for 22 years together. While in Flin Flon, Blanche taught religion in public school for eight years. In 1983 they moved to Winnipeg to be closer to family and enjoy their retirement years. Some of her fondest memories came from the travelling she did with her husband in their trailer, mostly to British Columbia Blanche became an active member of the C.W.L in 1959 and has continued to be a member for 43 years. She has also been a greeter at St. Timothy Parish since 1995. She loved to have family and friends over to play cards, dominoes and games and of course treat them to delicious meals and the warmth of her home. Her other interests included bowling, and helping Tiny with his favourite pass time, gardening and baking bread and other goodies. Viewing will be held between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, at St. Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsyth Rd. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, also at the church with Fr. Gerry Ward celebrant. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. We the family would like to thank all of the palliative care team especially Kathleen, Christine and Carrie for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Blanche to the charity of ones choice or to the CancerCare Manitoba.
