Date of Passing: Nov 16, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER (VLADIMIR) DANYLCHUK It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Walter (Vladimir) Danylchuk on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Bethesda Hospital after a brief bout with cancer at the age of 74. Born on January 12, 1928 in Zhoda, MB. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Nykola and Mary. Dad is survived by his loving wife Martha (Delorme) of 51 years, his son Lawrence (Monique), daughter Linda (David), and four grandsons, Derek, Craig, Nicholas, and Nathan. Dad is survived by his brother Mike, sister Stella, Alex (Jean), and William (Pat) brother-in-law Lloyd Lehman, sister-in-laws, Annette Delorme, Clem Delorme, and numerous nieces and nephews. Residing in Marchand since 1971, Dad was well known and respected in the community. His 35 year career with the CNR took him throughout Manitoba and Ontario. Dad was best known for his love of gardening where rows of vegetation and flowers would sprout annually, enough to feed an entire community. All his life Dad loved his music. He was a founding member of the Frazer River Boys Band in the late 50s and participated with the musical groups for over 20 years. Dads faith manifested itself in his service to the Lord as an elder trustee in the Sandilands Ukrainian Catholic Marchand and Steinbach Roman Catholic Church with countless hours of service in the parish. His greatest love however was his four grandchildren. He loved bringing the boys fishing and cruising the countryside. Dad was also involved in the Marchand Community Club, Seine River Wildlife Association, and numerous community groups for over 25 years. Recently Mom and Dad enjoyed being involved in their seniors groups and many social activities. Dad will be sadly missed by his family and all who came to know him. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Curtis Krahn, staff of Bethesda Hospital and wonderful neighbours, Marion and Parnell Peterson. Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ our Saviour parish, 365 Loewen Blvd., Steinbach. Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers, Arthur Delorme, Jerry Delorme, Harvey Delorme, Danny Danylchuk, Garth Potter, and Dave Perez. Honorary pallbearers, Derek and Craig Wynchuk, and Nick and Nathan Danylchuk. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel, (204)326-1351
